Global International Relations

Intellectual plurality and dialogue in the study of world politics

International Relations has often privileged a narrow range of European and North American historical experiences and theoretical traditions. Global IR asks how the discipline can account for the many political histories and intellectual traditions that shape world politics.

This is more than adding cases from regions left out of the canon. It asks whether those histories should also reshape concepts such as sovereignty, order, community and political agency, and how colonialism and unequal power shaped what counts as authoritative knowledge.

My work explores critical dialogue across traditions, including decolonial perspectives and relational thought. Such dialogue should preserve difference and invite careful interpretation; it need not collapse diverse traditions into one synthesis or treat every claim as equally persuasive.

Our Story

Global IR is an ongoing conversation about how the discipline can become more representative of the world it studies. My approach pairs intellectual openness with historical context and critical scrutiny, asking how dialogue across traditions can broaden explanation without erasing differences.
